About The Club

Deming has had it's share of Amateur Radio clubs since the early 1970s when there were two clubs. They were the Tri County Repeater Association and the Tri County Amateur Radio club. These two clubs merged in 1978 to form the Luna County Amateur Radio Club. In December 1992 the name was changed to the Deming Amateur Radio Club as it is today.

The club maintains two 2-Meter repeaters and a 70-cm repeater. The repeaters are located on strategic communications sites to best serve the ham community of Luna County and the surrounding area. The repeaters are open repeaters and any amateur radio operator is welcome to use them.

During times of emergency when normal communication methods have been disrupted, amateur radio operators help provide communication for police and other local authorities. We relay weather information among other ham radio operators and provide reports to the National Weather Service.

The club is active in community affairs. We provide communication for events in and around the Deming, NM area. If you have an upcoming event that needs wireless communication, please feel free to contact us.

The Deming Amateur Radio Club donates to several charitable organizations each year.

The Deming Amateur Radio Club is an ARRL affiliated club.
